Our Story
At Lady Spartan Customs, every custom begins with a simple question: “What if?”
Like many collectors, I originally started customizing action 1:12 scale action figures because there were characters I wanted that simply didn’t exist. Other times, I looked at an existing figure and thought it could be made more realistic, more tactical, or simply better by applying the experience I gained through my military background and years of collecting.
That philosophy eventually became the foundation of Lady Spartan Customs and our company motto:
What began as building customs for my own shelves quickly turned into creating pieces for other collectors. As word spread throughout the community, what began as a hobby quickly grew into creating custom pieces for collectors across the country. From there came our first convention appearances as a JoeFest vendor, giving us the opportunity to meet fellow collectors face-to-face and share our passion for the hobby.
As the business continued to grow, it needed an identity. The company was named after my partner, Lynn, whose online handle has long been Lady Spartan. It was only fitting that the person who believed in this dream from the beginning would become the inspiration behind the name.
Today, Lynn serves as Vice President of Operations and is the driving force that keeps Lady Spartan Customs moving forward. She has fully embraced the hobby, creating and selling her own line of custom magnets, managing countless behind-the-scenes responsibilities, helping coordinate convention events, and designing our website from the ground up. While I may spend the hours at the workbench creating customs, Lady Spartan is the reason the business runs as smoothly as it does.
Together, we strive to create one-of-a-kind action figures, vehicles, accessories, magnets, and original characters that combine creativity with military-inspired realism. Whether it’s reimagining a classic G.I. Joe, building an entirely original Dreadnok, or creating a custom collector piece unlike anything else available, every project is built with the same purpose that started this journey—to create the figures we always wished existed.
