Chief Warrant Officer John “Sunday” Harris earned his reputation flying helicopters into places where good judgment says they shouldn’t go. Bad weather, mountain approaches, confined landing zones, and extractions under fire are all part of the job. His call sign came after being shot down behind enemy lines and spending days evading hostile patrols before walking back into his forward operating base. Asked where he’d been, Harris simply replied, “Just out for a Sunday stroll.”
G.I. Joe recruited Sunday because exceptional flying is only half of what makes a combat aviator valuable. He’s equally dangerous once his boots hit the ground, with extensive survival, evasion, resistance, and escape training and proficiency with the MP5SD, SIG P226, and field knife. Sunday’s philosophy is simple: if there’s enough room for the rotors and enough power to pull back out, there’s probably a landing zone.
Sunday comes equipped with a removable flight helmet, removable sunglasses, MP5SD submachine gun, SIG P226 pistol, and combat knife. This Lady Spartan Customs 1:12 figure also includes two foot stands and a custom file card. As the Joe team likes to say: “If Sunday says the bird will make it, quit arguing and get in.”
